My name is Sarah Cason and this is my 20th year teaching Kindergarten at Whiteside Elementary. I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education from SIUE and also completed my Master's Degree in Instructional Technology with an emphasis in Educational Technologies. When I am not at school, I love to spend time with my family, read, travel, be outdoors, take pictures, ride horses, create and just stay active!
I absolutely love learning and love to watch children learn! As we all know, parents are a child's first teachers! For this reason, I am so excited every year to meet my students' parents and to form a partnership with them. It is through these parent/teacher partnerships that we can work together to bring a love of learning to our children. As a parent myself, I truly value the importance of working together with schools in order to maximize children's potential. I live in Troy with my husband and three children, ages 21, 17 and 16. I truly understand the craziness of today's world! So, I can empathize with all of you - whether this be your first child's school experience or if you have several children in school. We all have our own challenges and struggles, but in the end, we all want what is best for our children. I understand that, and want you to know that I am here to help and support you and your family any way that I can during this Kindergarten year! Your child's educational journey has already begun with you at home! My hope is that I can offer an environment for your child where he/she can make new friends, problem solve, build character, play, write, draw, read, grow, and most importantly - feel loved and SMART!! ALL students are smart - just in their own way. Every student should feel like a SUPER STAR in Kindergarten! So, let's work together and provide a positive learning environment for these young minds to grow! I look forward to getting to know all of you and your families this school year! |
